Induction

Post by mb1 »

Hi, I have received an email today formally offering me a job which is fantastic but my induction is 80 miles away from where I live and 70 from the office I will be working from. Do you get any travel allowance?

When I claimed for induction vehicle mileage it was 45p per mile (last summer & I don't think it's changed) otherwise I would imagine
it's actual cost of train/bus tickets (keep them in case required for the claim). I claimed for the mileage from my intended workplace
to the induction location.

Make sure you do claim - it's your money, there'll be plenty of times in the future in your
RM career when 10 minutes (and the rest!) will get 'forgotten' off your overtime claim 'by accident' here and there, but
this is one claim they shouldn't be able to wriggle out of.
