hi all

Stage 1 is a check against a register of debarred individuals who have previously worked for Royal Mail and a check against our Recruitment Risk Register to check for individuals who have committed a crime against Royal Mail.

Stage 2 is a basic disclosure check for unspent criminal conviction/s and is completed by a supplier
of Royal Mail.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

That is I am afraid a "how long is a piece of string question". There is no average at it all depends on so many factors its difficult to give a definitive answer. I have seen it be as short as a week, and as long as 6. When I started it was 10 weeks and no skeletons were in my closet.
6 and a half weeks from me passing checks and getting formal offer to my start date...so they are currently redoing the checks as its been longer than 28 days since I passed them
