This is rubbish, Mail Centres haven't even started receiving the backlogged mailsort which is nearly two weeks old. In additon to this the network changes on Monday will cause absolute chaos and only add to the backlog!!!

Absolutely woeful lack of communication to the membership. And there's no excuse for it in the internet era. By not posting a daily update on the latest position on the CWU website, aren't all the top brass in the union justifying RM's accusation that the leadership will not embrace new technology and move with the times ? I can understand why a letter to all members' homes every day is not a practical option (and how would we receive them anyway if our local office is on strike?). This total lack of official briefings to members is, however, an utter disgrace. They don't have to disclose any detail of the points still under discussion, but the website should be used to keep members informed of any developments in the process, so we don't feel sidelined or that RM are being assisted in their delaying tactics by union incompetence

I agree, in my office the backlog is only getting bigger everyday and I would think that the MC will still be packed but I would need that confirmed by someone who works up in Mallusk

Just saying what I've heard and seen mate.
Im from a mail centre/delivery office weve run out of yorks the mail sort still hasnt come through the system yet approx 450 rsc from the four days we were out plus as our work comes via PRDC and theyve been out i,d say 450 rsc is at least i'd bet its nearer 600

don't write it off as 8 days pay down the pan just yet. as lovejoy says tomorrows pec meeting is at 12 noon which in turn means the conclusion of the clarification talks will be short suggesting they are close to agreement. lets hear what this agreement is before we slag off all and sundry
The impression I get is that RM management want to create an atmosphere of darkness and confusion. The Union are hoping to get a better deal by playing along with RM's desire for secretive negotiations.
This is annoying for all of us who are waiting to see what will happen. It creates tension.
But it doesn't make me feel more inclined to accept anything unfair, or unreasonable working conditions.
