Earlier this month, at the annual Operations Conference, our chief operations officer Sue Whalley shared the Operations Plan.
It is a significant investment in our business and a road map for all functions; Delivery, Processing and Logistics.
Some important achievements in Processing and Collections in the last year include a 3.6% increase in productivity against a 2% increase in workload, a 25% reduction in lost-time accidents, and deployment of 3,000 finger scanners.
Our Processing, Collections and Engineering director, Simon Barker said: ‘We must deliver to customer expectations to remain competitive. For Processing and Collections, this means embedding the standards, working together to close gaps in performance and creating a culture of continuous improvement.’
More to come
Forthcoming initiatives in Processing and Collections include a trial of a small parcel automation machine in Swindon, expanding processing of medium parcels, and developing our managers.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
