Can you ask to be paid the day as overtime rather than get it back as a days annual leave if your day off is set on a bank holiday? And is there anything in writing that I can download that states this?
Cheers

In Royal Mail:
• If you’re not scheduled to work on a Bank holiday, you’ll receive the equivalent number of hours as a
credit to the hours you would have worked.
• If your rest day falls on a Bank holiday, your manager will check if workload allows for you to have
another day off that week.
• If that’s not possible, you can either:
» add the day to your annual holiday entitlement; or
» take the excess hours paid as overtime. This will be paid at the Monday to Saturday overtime rate

Dumb question but just to clarify - if I'm on 25hrs a week over 5 out of 6 days (ie 5 hours per day worked)
does that mean 5 hours paid as O/T or the number of hours that the duty I would have worked is scheduled to take ie if the
duty is scheduled 0800 - 1530 then 7hrs 30min O/T?
What is the actual process for getting it paid as O/T?
TIA

Bank holiday day off
In our office we either get the bank holiday back as a day in lieu, or claim a day off on the docket. In regards to that, I'm on a 20 hour contract and have always been told to claim a worked day off as a full day regardless of how little hours I might do. Obviously if I do more than 7.48 then I claim for that instead

Our dim always tries to not pay us, but just gives us a day in lieu, personally I always take the money.

Bank holiday day off
It all kicked off in our office. Dom tried to pull a fast one and say that Friday is a public holiday, and not a bank holiday. The national agreement states that good Friday is bookable if it's your only day off, same as Monday. Make sure you book this as overtime!! Don't get stitched up.
