Hi all, I went for an interview last week and got an email back saying I passed the interview but there were stronger candidates so I did not get that job and have been put on a waiting list for 3 months and should contact HR direct if I see a suitable job come up. The next day I saw a similar job so I sent them an email with the details of the job. What happens now? do I have to get shortlisted and go to another interview? or does it work a different way?
Many thanks

You should now be fast tracked through the system for the new job ie security checks etc, you do not need to attend another interview. Don't take the word "fast" literally though, it can still take ages.

Many thanks, does it still mean I have to wait till the job closes and be point scored against the other candidates?

Don't think so, you are now effectively at the front of the queue of candidates suitable for the job and should get an email saying you have been taken off the list and put forward for the new position. As long as you pass security checks you should be ok.

I was waitlisted back in October and the job was reposted but when I reapplied they said it had already gone. this happened again in December and again in Feb but that time they immediately came back to me. within 24 hours and advised I would now go through the Security checks. My first day was 17th Feb!! It's hard work at first walking 10 miles a day but it's great! i'm really enjoying it so good luck! and keep at them!!

Thank you for that, did you just keep emailing with the job number etc or did you have to re apply to get the job in the end?
