ROYAL MAIL – ‘ONE LOGISTICS’
Dear Colleagues,
Branches and representatives will be aware that an announcement was made by Royal Mail on the 15th March 2016 in relation to the introduction of a new managerial structure for the Logistics function, also called ‘One Logistics’. A copy of the communication from Sue Whalley is attached for your information.
The business did provide the department with notification of the impending announcement of what they described as a change to their managerial structure and in particular the lines of responsibility at a senior level. The attached communication was shared with the department immediately prior to it being cascaded in the field. We have been informed that the activity is designed to ensure that all aspects of the Logistics operation come under one national managerial structure.
Following the announcement the department has received a number of enquiries in relation to the impact that this change will have, specifically on our Area Distribution and Network drivers and functions, especially in light of the reference to Regional and National Logistics functions being brought together to create a single distribution structure.
We have sought assurances from the business and to allay concerns that have been brought to our attention we can inform Branches, representatives and members of the following:
This change has no impact on the terms and conditions of our members in the functions covered by this managerial reorganisation.
All agreed working and attendance arrangements for our Professional Driver Grades in the Network and Area Distribution Functions will remain distinct and separate.
All existing National Agreements be they Generic or specific to the Area Distribution and Network functions, will continue to hold the field and any proposed changes in the future will be subject to national negotiation and agreement.
The department will of course continue to monitor the situation.
Branches and representatives are requested to ensure that our members are made aware of the contents of this LTB.
Any enquiries in relation to this LTB should be addressed to Davie Robertson, Assistant Secretary, e-mail: dwyatt@cwu.org or shayman@cwu.org quoting reference number: 211.01
Yours sincerely
Davie Robertson
Assistant Secretary

ROYAL MAIL – ‘ONE LOGISTICS’
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

ROYAL MAIL : ONE LOGISTICS
Does this mean that Royal Mail are going to merge the senior Management of Network and Area Distribution roles? I do take note that MGV drivers and Network Drivers will stay on their current t&cs for now? Basically maybe changes in the future????
