Royal Mail has been awarded a Gold standard for both gender and race in the Business in the Community (BITC) Diversity and Wellbeing Benchmark 2015.
The prestigious BITC rating underpins Royal Mail’s commitment to gender equality and diversity in the workplace
This improves on Royal Mail’s previous ranking, in 2013, where we were awarded gold for gender and silver for race.
This recognises that the schemes we have put in place are helping improve gender equality and diversity across our company
Royal Mail has been awarded a Gold standard for both gender and race in the Business in the Community (BITC) Diversity and Wellbeing Benchmark 2015.
This prestigious BITC rating underpins Royal Mail’s commitment to gender equality and diversity in the workplace.
A total of 97 public and private sector organisations submitted workforce data on gender and race, and were assessed on a range of key areas, including career progression, recruitment, supplier diversity, and senior management and board representation of ethnic minorities and women.
This improves on Royal Mail’s previous ranking, in 2013, where we were awarded gold for gender and silver for race.
Royal Mail Chief Executive Moya Greene said: “Royal Mail is proud to have its work on diversity recognised by Business in the Community. We strive to attract people who reflect the communities and customers we serve. Being awarded a Gold banding by Business in the Community shows the progress we have made to create an environment that is more inclusive and welcoming for everyone.”

The company has demonstrated a strong commitment to creating inclusive workplaces where employees are valued and rewarded for their contribution to the organisation, regardless of gender. I hope other employers will learn from their example and use it to drive real change within their own organisations.”
