Got to agree DHL are a joke. My neighbour worked for them. He told me that when he went on holiday parcels for the "hard part" of his route were left for him to deliver when he came back from hols. Just can not see them delivering to the remote part of the country.

Don't know if anyone is interested as I have already mentioned this in a previous post and as it didn't concern delivery no one gave a s**t... but the likes of UKMail and TNT get us to process their mail on our machines. We get about 14p(last time I was told a yr ago) an item. Basically all they do is collect it from the customer and bring it to us to process and deliver. It's a joke, even when we lose business we still get paid by the competition and apparently they make a loss with it. I've always thought this competition lark has been largely scare mongering and a damn good excuse for RM to cut job, allowances and pensions. From this forum I've been under the impression that most the D.O. staff don't realise that we process and sort this crap for them, and think that we only deliver it. Well I want to make it clear right now that it goes through the machine I work on daily. They have absolutely no hope of competing with us, in my opinion that is why the regulator is so tough on RM to try and make it more of a level playing field for them. The most part of the machines our competition have are used for dispensing coffee!
Remember, the way you do you job will affect colleagues for years to come - if you cut corners to do it quick, they will be expected to as well....and then RM will add extra work to fill the gaps.

Yes we do that, its all walk sorted on the MTT's then LSM's. Every single auto level is full with DSA work waiting to go through the machines.

We have TNT lorrys delivering their crap into our mail centre to be processed.

When he was on his way out of our yard I gave him a dirty look and made sarcastic comments to a colleague.

TNT are the ultimate strike breakers and represent everything that is wrong with employment in Britain in the 21st century.

Every time I see one of their vans I think of that cnt Murdoch.

We couldnt get into work today for UPS delivering something. He was stuck at the gate, in the end a gaffa got out from the queue of traffic and used his card to let him in. I personally think he should be done with willful delay. He went on to leave his lorry in the middle of the carpark while he made his drop, once again stopping us getting into work... not that I mind!

] To be honest as things have transpirerd with RM in recent weeks, I am more and more convinced that the concept of a competition simply does not exist!! By any name DHL TNT UK post whoever!! We have proved over and over no one can touch us and never will... Unless :lfo and :cfo have their way!
The whole ethos of another end to end competitor in this country just wont happen in my opinion.. The sheer cost alone is to great let alone the ineficiency of two or more networks!! So we do have somthing worth fighting to keep!!
And the s**t that gets thrown at us about the competion is simply BOLLOCKS!!!

SHouldnt use AUTOLEVELS for use on MTT OR LSM... The work should be on a twill or camban h&s .... H&S IS KING..... If its to crowded in your office and its too near your LSM or MTT or CFC then H&S everytime..... If your workplace is over crowded STOP WORK AND ASK A H&S rep to asses the area...

This is our only fight in MC's and RDC's H&S ......

Found a box delivered by DHL just door stepped today. Written on it was "Do not sign for until you have examined the condition of this consignment and are happy with it"

How tempted was I to put the fecking boot into it, kick it down the street and back, drive my van over a couple of times them gently place back on the door step from whence it was left!!!!

I found a book from the so called rivals left at the side of the house. I knew they were away on their hols and it was covered in slugs and soaking wet.

Simply if you're stunned spread the word... its about time posties realised they've nothing to be held ransom to. This is just another bloody RM tactic to extort more allowances, pay and benefits from us. For a communication firm we are completely out of touch with each other.

Was chatting to our work place coach yesterday and was shown part of their coaching stuff about DSA. Can not remember it word for word but the jist of it was that DSA was good for RM in as much as it is profitble. So I must agree that all this competition stuff is absolute bollocks. The likes of TNT & DHL will never put bods on the pavement as they know to bloody well that they could not afford to continue with the prices they charge. Read an interesting article put up on our notice board. The writer reckons that DHL etc should be made to offer an end to end service, but he concluded that it would never happen because ,suprise suprise, they would have to put their prices up dramaticly and would therefore become less competetive. ENOUGH SAID. Are you listerning :lfo :cfo Stop feeding us, to coin a well used senior management saying, BULLSHIT.
