congestion charge

Post by jafferpants »

Hands up all those who knew that when the congestion charge was brought in royal mail was offered complete exemption on all it's transport fleet as long as it would agree to pass on some of the savings in to the staffs wages. It refused point blank. What a bunch of w*****s :Sick

Didnt know that Jaffs but as i worked in E1 London... We had to go into the congestion area coming to and from work... I had to go into zone 1 and out and this cost me alot more money on public ttransport... The congestion charge was a joke in RM AS well as they stopped the Underground post train that came from WHITECHAPEL n went to Rathbone Plc The Mount & Padd... Now it all goes by road.... I'm afraid you'll have to excuse pilsbury gentlemen, you see because of the strike his wages have been reduced by a large amount unlike his waist band, and because of this he has cancelled his pie order. however because the lorry had already set off with his pies he had to pay a cancelation fee. Still not to worry i hear his wife is taking him to be measured for a new suit at the weekend they are off to "man at fat c***'s". Over to you my old dumpling bod. :nana :nana :nana

I heard ken livingston giving an interview on LBC radio on one of the strike days and he mentioned that he had made this offer to Crozier ,but was turned down.Ken said that the management appeared to treat their workers with contempt.Pretty accurate analysis!I don`t live in london, but if I did,I would probably vote for him to stay mayor, just on that comment

I couldnt understand that one Either, Lets all close down a SEMI automated service (okay the carts need to be Loaded/Unloaded), but lets just close it down, and put more cars on the road to cart mail across london.

RIP MailRail.

Want to see it in Action ? Rent a copy of "Hudson Hawk" (Bruce Willis), It is portayed as delivering mail to the Pope in Rome, and the monks seen sorting the mail, are actual Mail Rail Employee's dressed up for the shoot.
