A motorist is in hospital following a collision involving a two cars and a Royal Mail lorry on the A9.
The road was shut as a result of the incident near the Nigg Roundabout between Tain and Kilday at 11.40pm on Wednesday.
The injured driver was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness to be treated for head and back injuries, while two others suffered minor wounds.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Two cars and a Royal Mail lorry were involved in a collision on the A9.
"The driver of the one of the cars, a man in his 30s, suffered a head wound and a sore back was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. Two others were walking wounded.
"The incident happened at 11.38pm two miles north of the Nigg Roundabout and the road was closed to allow for the recovery of the vehicles.
"It reopened completely shortly before 2.30pm."
