Short paid Royal Mail Xmas casual

Post by Kurtis01 »

Hi I started work on the 9th December and have worked Wednesday to Friday at £7.10 per hour which I calculate at £159.75 for 7.5 hours each night. I was also told that I would get 1.5 hour travel expenses which equals £31.95 for the 3 nights. On top of this I was also told I would get a£10 bonus for completing the 3 nights. To my calculations this totals £201.70 after tax at 20% leaves £161.36. I have only been paid £85.00. Who do I contact about this so it can be resolved? Has anybody else been short paid as a Xmas casual?

You could try and call the Christmas Casual Helpline: 0845 600 1785

Although, I believe you should contact your line manager in the first instance.

I've never heard of an Xmas casual being offered travel expenses or a bonus. Are you sure?

Most likely they've paid you for two shifts: (15 * £7.1) * 0.8 = £85.20. If you're working nights your Friday shift may have missed the payroll cut-off.

Are you RM or Angard or Manpower? Love to know where it is that offers 7.10/hr! Oh unless you get nightshift enhancement.
But doesn't sound like RM to give travel expenses.

If you ring the casuals helpline & get an idiot then bid them a nice day and redial, hoping you won't get the same idiot. If you do then accept defeat & steal a charity box or something.
