yes, I would, you never know what he has done with it, has it turned up yet or is it floating down a local beck, has he passed it all on to his dodgy mates, owt could have happened, If it turned up then yes as, although this wont be your reason for doing it, you'll look good getting done when you did.

Message received an Agency worker stopped by Police while driving and reading a map.
He had four pouches of mail in the car.
He had no Insurance no Tax and no MOT so he was arrested and charged his car was impounded to be crushed.
A letter is on the way to interested parties and a report to HSE.

you cant compare a few dodgy casuals with all of them..dawatticus wrote:Not all casuals are dishonest you know... I worked with royal mail as a casual a few summers (when i was at uni), and I wasnt dishonest at all! If i was, they (probably) wouldn't have employed me as a postman would they?madelin4 wrote:Its prob in the local river!!![]()
its the same as the flak we get off the public thinking that one thieving postie means all posties are thieves..and one thing that really pisses me off is being accused of is a thief, just because some nigerian postie somewhere was running a credit card ring somewhere.its the same thing.

I'm ex RM delivery 1987-2006, former CWU unit rep. I'm now an agency worker.
I know the job inside out and a shed load of my current mates are agency workers. Many of them Polish.
I don't think any of them personally would be the stealing type. BUT... if I was employed, NOW... on the wages the agency pay... and there was money to be made... sorry, I'd be thieving like a right bastard, cos I know how hard it is to get caught and how lax the sentencing is.
A postman I know very well, who stole while on IPS, by sorting Birthday cards from other deliveries to his own delivery, then pilfering them as he took his own car out on delivery!!!!! .... but was only sentenced to 3 months suspended ( plus court costs, which he couldn't pay as he was out of work)... is a f***ing joke. He stole thousands of birthday cards, but they could only prosecute him for the ones they could prove he'd nicked on the day... 22 items.. proof and all that. So, let's say he nicked 20 cards a day... over a 5 day period. That's 100 cards a week. If only 10% of those had a tenner in, then he was on £100 a week bonus. minimum!
I don't know if I could bring myself to do it. I've always prided myself on my honesty. And thieving isn't something I have ever done. But, I'm now at £175 take home pay... and you could double, triple or maybe even more than that... if you were on the thieve...just in cash.... let-alone credit-cards or anything else.... for a job where you might be NRB'd the next day. (NRB =Not Required Back).. with no repercussions as it takes ages to track down a thief.
Makes you think eh? :?

I aint saying I would nick... BUT... knowing how it works, ... and now being agency... on an absolute pittance, not enough most weeks to pay my bills, even if you get a full weeks work, which isn't always, like this week I only have 3 days work.... then you can see the outcome of employing agency staff, who're going to be long gone before even a finger is pointed...
Makes you think... is what I meant.

a similar thing happened at our place, however he was a postie who had been there for a few years,he was thieving dvd,s and cd,s from amazon etc.he used to do it when he was sorting packets, any dvd,s that he had he would put them into his packet bag and swipe them,after...
he only got found out when he had a few weeks off and those who complained had thier dvd,s delivered as normal, but as soon as he came back the dvd,s went missing again...so he got caught..
the twat even swiped my dvd, when he was sorting packets...
