It does sound like a small DO but maybe this office has a good local incentive for all the workers to come in and work??

I remember when the Royal Mail offered posties holiday vouchers and the chance of winning a car for good attendance. I got £150 in holiday vouchers which was nice at the time.

Truth is though, it is improvements to pay and working conditions in the long run that will reduce absenteeism.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

That really irritates me, sick is sick, leave is leave, the two should be mutually exclusive. Okay, some people abuse the sick pay, but unions fought long and hard for rights such as holiday pay and in our case ,paid sick leave ,only for it to be demeaned by people like this.

I wouldn't worry too much about it rubber, I don't think it'll ever catch on in other offices.

Would some one from this office like to tell us more? How many delivery staff? Are You on park and loop or bikes and vans still? Small deliveries? No lapsing? No one over 45?

In our office over the last two years we've had posties with the following absences....

Terminal Cancer
Broken Leg
Massive Head Injuries leading to Coma
Miscarriage

Regardless of spirit and how much you want to get into work sometimes you just can't. Yet RM insist on these snide articles trying to shame people for being ill.

That's an apt reference given the song titles on that Album.

1. "Speak to Me"
2. "Breathe"
3. "On the Run"
4. "Time"
5. "The Great Gig in the Sky"
Side two
6. "Money"
7. "Us and Them"
8. "Any Colour You Like"
9. "Brain Damage"
10. "Eclipse"

It is very easy when it is a very small office. If you have an office with over 100 people it will spread viruses more.

Yes the DOM and the Area Manager are total bullies.Funny they all work from the same parent office and even socialise together. These staff need to man up and realise at the end of the day they will be just be a number and could be sacked for other disipline matters in an instance. How many staff? Not even double figures!!!!!!
