Could someone in the Mail Centre explain what's happening with the Stamped Mail? The Early/1st Wave of IPS letters seems to contain an ever increasing amount of un-franked cards. The Later/2nd Wave of IPS appear to have been through the machine and a lot more are franked!
Do perhaps the night sorters use a different process to those that start later/earlier? We've all been told to endorse any we find (which is a bit easy with our posh little stamps) but a lot of Posties can't be arsed. As a Business we must be losing hundreds of thousands of pounds over Christmas! As we're all shareholders now it does effect us.

Do you not notice that the stamps aren't Franked GF? Must just be something I pick up on, not as if I inspect every letter, they just stand out to me. It get's so bad that when I empty a letter box I'm half way to striking the stamps out!

I tend to see the stamps when I confirm the address before I post the article. I thought we all did a final visual check so as to avoid another screw up on delivery! Or is it just me?
I also subscribe to the notion that we get paid on the income derived from stamp sales (as well as others). Un-endorsed stamps reduce that income stream and will ultimately affect our jobs! Or is it just me?

I'll have a look next time I'm in. Can be difficult sometimes as we have one of those helpful DOMs who likes to strut up and down the IPS frame tipping all the mail out into a big Bastard Pile! Nothing like having the immensity of the mornings task laid out before you! Personally I prefer to sort the mail one box at a time, I find that much easier to handle psychologically.

I couldn't even tell you what's on the Christmas stamps
A Bang-On Post from Dorset Plodder... the amount of un-cancelled cards and parcels entering my Delivery Office is nothing short of a small tsunami. I don't know how many members of the public re-use (or attempt to re-use) stamps but in these hard times (for many) if it's only 5% it's certainly a loss of hundreds of thousands of pounds to the business... and I'd like a pension when I retire
I also work most Sunday's at the local Mail Centre... and the amount of unobliterated stampsI see is quite frankly sickening.... potentially it's like opening the window and throwing a £1.00 note out for each two un-cancelled Christmas Cards... of which there are oh so many
I've been told most are rejects off the machines... and I attempt to cancel everyone I see... yet collegues in the business and most agency or temporary staff don't seem to care. I'd imagine e-buy buyers and sellers just love Christmas... when they can collect unfranked jiffy bags and re-use them with a sticky label over the old address
I understand workloads are hectic just now... but let's cancel all uncancelled stamps we see... otherwise we are just mugs and donkeys... working for nothing... or potentially nothing

or more than likely most staff dont give a flying f..k which is sad to see
Checked the Boxes and they are either white or cream labels. Normally the early stuff that comes in. I must have cancelled about 200 cards a day for the last week. Moya's going to give me a pat on the head!
