Lottery winning postie delivers Christmas cheer

Matthew Evans, the Lottery winning postman from Barry, has helped a Llanelli charity get the festive season under way with a visit to Ty Enfys Family Centre where he delivered gifts and helped spread Christmas cheer.
Seven winners from across South Wales, with a combined fortune of over £8 million, pulled on their festive knits to visit the centre.

Matthew Evans from Barry joined Lyn Sexton and Ian Pearce from Merthyr, Meredith Davies from Llandeilo, Nigel Willets from Caerphilly and Barry and Yvonne Bradley from Llanelli, arriving at the centre laden down with treats for the volunteers and families.

Ty Enfys Family Centre in Llanelli received a £5,000 grant from Big Lottery fund in September 2014 to fund a playhouse and a sand pit. This helps the centre provide outdoor active play and family fun sessions for families in the local area, which encourage exercise and a healthy lifestyle.

Matthew Evans, who won £2.6m in July, said: “It is great to be able to visit Welsh charities who are doing such wonderful work to support their community. Christmas is such a special time and it means so much to be able to give something back.”
