Everyone wants to get their Christmas presents on time - so we're revealing the best delivery firms to help you avoid the disappointment of an empty stocking.

We asked over ten thousand people about their experiences of online shopping, so we can tell you which are the UK's best and worst delivery firms.

Best and worst delivery firms

The best delivery firm is DPD. It tells customers of their one-hour delivery slot in advance and lets them communicate with the driver in real-time if they won’t be home. Great if you want to avoid a trip to the distribution centre.

Royal Mail comes second, along with private, local and independent couriers. At the bottom of the table is Fedex. We reveal the full results below.

The figures don't show which will be the best at Christmas, it shows who was (supposedly) the best earlier in the year. Only one company on that list is duty bound to take in and attempt to deliver every item given to them.
