Pay rate after 12 question.

Post by JustinDavies1988 »

I'm about 6 week into working on the higher pay rate. My first couple of payslips on the increased wage showed my rate as £12.68, the next week it went up to £13.91 and stayed that way for a couple of weeks before going back down to £12.68 for last week. I only work during the week, either early shifts starting at 6:30 or evenings where the latest I finish will be 22:00 so I don't think the hours are the reason for the changes. Has this happened to anyone else, or does anyone have an answer as to why?

Thanks.

If you work a late shift (finish between 21.40 & 01.59) it's a higher rate of pay than the day rate paid for earlies. If you have worked a mix of early and late shifts Angard add up the totals paid for each shift worked then divide by the total number of hours to give an average hourly rate for the week. The higher rate of pay you got was probably a week where you worked more evenings?

The difference between the rates is roughly a pound between early/lates/nightshift.
The Sunday rate is roughly or slightly under time and a half. :nana
Does anyone have the exact figures to hand please?

Do they still offer Sunday shifts this time of year? That seems like a great hourly rate.

In theory, yes. It all depends on the business need. The MC I work at is trying to cover weekends with RM staff, but I've been offered a couple of Saturdays. Like I say, it honestly just depends on the needs of the business, which can change at very short notice.
