I'm sure this has been asked here before, as it's almost like a mantra in our office, but given that the Christmas flood has already hit our office this week and mail/parcels are super-heavy, and we now have SEVEN d2d items in for next week (5 big/bulky items and 2 one-sheets)....

Can someone from the CWU please explain how you didn't shaft us all with that shambles of a D2D agreement?

in the agreement that gave up our d2d payments, there now is no longer a cap on the numbers

Prep 1/6th of the D2D unless instructed otherwise, decide if you need overtime to complete delivery, then decide if you are willing to do any overtime and then consult your lino regarding the over-running procedure.

I guess I'm just seeing it from a different perspective. We're paid by the minute. The more work we have the more pay we can get for the day. Or you can cut off when your time is up if you'd rather, let someone else get the extra cash.

Having 'too many' D2Ds is win-win for us posties, so far as I see. Unless you're chasing an early finish or some ghost docket I suppose.

never seen it in b&w but we were told if ever there were over 5 lots they had to come pre-prepped
to be honest, the amount we now get dropped when the payment got scrapped, never get 4 lots and even 3 lots are rarer than a managers smile

As for the working to time issue or booking and going over I agree, accept management were throwing bullcr@p left right and centre trying to convince those affected that they were not allowed to cut off live mail due to D2Ds and those involved were not the battling type!

I think in the end a driver was drafted in to take their oversized to give them more time.

Delivery staff out number MC staff by at least 2:1 so any deal is voted in or out by deliveries

What was at stake:

Deliveries = Lose D2D payments for a much less amount in pay

Mail Centres = £10 extra in your pay for no change in working conditions

OK last post in here as it's rehashing old arguments and posts and is generally pointless.

Some delivery staff voted it in. Longer serving staff were getting grandfather rights for early morning shift allowance for £12. New staff who never worked the earlier ours were not paid this. In the new agreement the delivery supplement was for around £20 for all, but those receiving grandfather rights for the early shift would lose that payment.

Affectively newer delivery staff workers and MC members got a much better deal than longer serving delivery staff. Had the vote been restricted just to deliveries as it should have been, it would not have been passed. It did not affect MC staff with regards to their duties in any way shape or form and they should not have been included in it. CWU decided for some reason to get the 2010 agreement passed and thus rigged the vote. Why they did this who knows perhaps RM management offered them a years worth of free pies or something?

Ok carry on arguing in here if you like but I can't really add any more than this!

Wasn't quite sure of the details but you've refreshed the memory now. I suppose the point of the post was to see if anyone from the CWU would have the balls to come in and try to defend it.
