Hi all. Just a quickie. I was off last Friday as in rota day. One of the lads had to pick his daughter up from school at 3 about 30-35 miles away. Maybe further. He told the DOM about this and said he was going to put his foot down. They finished at 1330.

This week now our DOM is comparing us to those pair that were running round last Friday. I always have and always will use the LWT, so always go over my time and book it. Got to a point though today and told him I'm not working over no more due to his snide remarks.

Is comparing you and giving you grief good enough reason for a HR1 form?

its like the tale of the tape in boxing matches with only one side filled in and then saying to the other one he's 6 foot 4 why aren't you, you should be you know !! for goodness sake

Comparing one employee to another is generally considered very bad form in management circles, as everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses.

Not sure whether you could put in in a grievance about it or not but personally I would just tell them to poke it up their @rse, politely of course! :wink:

There are minimum standards you have to meet on prep and delivery. If you are meeting them then you are fine. If reserves on your walk want to run around or come in early it has nothing whatsoever to do with you. Work to time is my advice, if you get grief then ask to be prep tested and observed out on delivery.

a lad today, mid to late 50s, been on the same duty i'd guess around 4/5 years was suddenly hauled in today for under performance.
no set partner for about a year and just been lumped with agency workers and unsure when they start or left on his own but do certain jobs on the vacant walk,
felt so sorry for him, what a complete set of heartless tw@ts manage us

The prep test is as you say 25 a min into an empty frame, pretty easy to do. I would say the delivery is as the minutes on the frame at the beginning of every loop, providing you are on model traffic for that day.

so that's no actual standards apart from the 1 minute prep test?

and definately no agreed standard for outdoor work?
