Bullying?

Post by redneck »

I work in an office that has no real history of 'leaving in', and poor union representation locally, who are pretty inactive unless something affects them personally. I also have knowledge of how isolated a union rep can be in a workplace, so see both sides and reasons why most elect not to get involved. Therefore I feel this forum is possibly best for initial advice on the following issue.

Due to understaffing and continuing 'lapsing', workers are beginning to 'leave in' as traffic levels reach heavy levels day after day taking them way over their time. These full timers have in some cases served this company for over 30 years and are entering new territory with the refusal to take the whole round out. This has been met with the inference that they will have their start times put back to 9am and do their whole shift outdoors. It seems a disgraceful way to treat these workers, a situation all of RM's own making with the refusal to employ more staff, but what can be done?

If the office is under staffed who would put up the full timer's walks?

3 walks left in frames yesterday, nothing went out and got delivered on 2 of them.
Today there was 11 walks to cover, isn't this willful delay by the managers?

I work in hartlepool d.o,and there is bullying on a daily basis by 2 managers.People are being forced into taking lapsing when there is no realistic time to complete it,then being told if they bring it back they will be disciplined with willful delay. The attitude of managers is woeful.I have heard of a certain manager taking a colleague into an office and throwing a parcel at him/her because it had been misplaced by locker staff. Our union rep is doing his best but our office is like being ruled by the gestapo, management do what they like.
