Christmas SA Hours not been agreed

in our office for the last 10yrs we have been paid extra Hours during the xmas period to perform deliveries .

We have been told that this is not going to be paid this year.

I was wondering if this is a blanket ban from RM across all delivery offices , or is just ours :roll: :sad:

We have never had SA ove christmas

TBT does that mean you just do your deliveries , and if you went over you got paid o/T ,

as in our area SS, and in my previous area TN, we was always paid a set amount of hours over a two week xmas pressure

Yes during christmas pressure we do not do extended unless we want to. So far at Christmas have never worked over except when doing favours for mates with kids on Christmas Eve.

Was told by my manager today, when i said i was not going to work over my time from now on,said i would ,if needed, I would have to work half an hour over during the christmas period.

They'd have to play musical chairs in our office, they have cut and cut and we are seriously understaffed, almost everybody has said they can keep the overtime. A few paltry hours for a couple of weeks won't change your life. Not doing any will give them serious problems. Well, the problems are their making.

Sounds like your DOM'S threatening you...that's bullying in my books.

Royal Mail CANNOT force you to work over your contracted hours, unless you choose to do so...end of!

I'd bet you will not be the only person he is trying it on with...see your unit Rep.
