Repicks
In my office we had 10 collection duties and after a revision this has been reduced to 9, a colleague has lost his duty but not his job as he was going to be reassigned as a spare driver, however after consulting his union rep it has been decided that he can pick a duty that has been changed, so he picks from one of three duties that are deemed to have been changed by 25% this has a knock on effect as the guy who's duty he's taken must also choose a duty, he chooses mine leaving me as a full time spare driver, is this procedure correct ?, does the "mini" re-pick only involve the duties that have changed the most or should all of them have gone into the pot ?, I have almost 20 yrs service under my belt but lose my duty even though three other guys are below me in the seniority table ?.

Re: Repicks
What should happen is all the duties that have changed by 25% or more put into the resign hat so all 3 jobs should be in the hat, so basically all 3 lose their duties then a resign is done on seniority so you will have have a pick before the other 2 if you are senior.

Re: Repicks
You are being confused over the procedures for a full resign and a revision. In the scenario that you have described your office has carried out a revision more than likely to be instigated by savings which your union rep has endorsed. This revision has resulted in a colleague losing his/her signed duty and in effect this person has become a surplus employee and will then come under the umbrella of the MTSF agreement where management will offer a suitable alternative in relation to allowances and starting and finishing times. This displaced colleague would have to have a reasonable argument in refusing this other suitable duty and by doing so would effect any protective payments which would suit management or this person would become a supernumerary spare dependant on seniority. Of the 9 duties that have been adjusted 3 of these 9 have received a significant impact change and now bear no resemblance in content or starting and finishing times, allowances etc. from when they were originally signed for and are now in a repack while the remaining 6 duties have been subjected to a minimal change and are being retained. In all cases the repick will be on a seniority basis as per the Way Forward Agreement resourcing.superfurrychub wrote:In my office we had 10 collection duties and after a revision this has been reduced to 9, a colleague has lost his duty but not his job as he was going to be reassigned as a spare driver, however after consulting his union rep it has been decided that he can pick a duty that has been changed, so he picks from one of three duties that are deemed to have been changed by 25% this has a knock on effect as the guy who's duty he's taken must also choose a duty, he chooses mine leaving me as a full time spare driver, is this procedure correct ?, does the "mini" re-pick only involve the duties that have changed the most or should all of them have gone into the pot ?, I have almost 20 yrs service under my belt but lose my duty even though three other guys are below me in the seniority table ?.
