IR process

Post by Rumple »

I've seen a lot of advice on here suggesting to "get the rep to put in a stage 1 disagreement and follow the IR process"

For those who don't know, myself included, how does the industrial relations process work, how do you "follow it through"?

A disagreement: How does it work

When a disagreement is registered it is now legally binding.

Management cannot ignore the disagreement and every month the Div Reps and IR manager review all disagreements which have been registered to ensure they are being addressed in line with the agreed timescales.

Once you have registered the stage 1 disagreement and you have alerted the Area there must be a meeting to attempt to resolve this within one week.

If it cannot resolved then it moves to a stage 2 with the DSM and Area Rep and again there is a one week timescale.

If it cannot then be resolved then it goes to the Div Rep and Delivery Director then to National HQ level and then even to external mediation.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
