some members of my group went down there this morning and I got a report off one of them on my lunch break. It was by phone so sorry if I get some of the details wrong.
There were 80-100 posties on the picket line, which was brilliantly organised - they're doing it in shifts with lunchbreaks and everything! the 4 reps they have there have been in talks with the local mangement but because it's a national dispute and the posties there aren't going back to work until there's a national deal that's acceptable to the membership then i guess this didn't get very far. Loads of people signed a petition calling for a break from Labour and were talking about spreading the strikes to Leeds and beyond and also linking up with the posties in Liverpool.
Also, an ITV show called 'Calendar' filmed it - i dunno what show that is but am certainly gonna be watching it

they went back to work at 1pm. i've heard that RM threatened to sack them all so the CWU reps persuaded evryone to go back to work. this is just something i've heard off one person - is not for certain.
