Hi,
I applied through Angard for a Christmas job (mail sorter). I was then given an inteview.
At the inteview two Angard staff checked my documents. (I was not asked for shift preferences) and said it would take 2-5 weeks for them to contact me.
On the Royal Mail site it now says:
Status: HIRED AND START DATE AGREED.
Two days ado, I had received a physical letter and my badge from Angard telling me to sign my contract, but I have not had anybody from Royal Mail contact me yet to discuss my shift preferences or any form of contact.
Anybody know why?
The Royal Mail site states:
As you have passed your assessment we are now moving your application onto the next stage of the recruitment process. A recruitment advisor will be in contact with you shortly to explain the next steps and outline some of the pre employment checks we will be undertaking.
Once these checks have been completed to our standard further details regarding your offer will be sent to you via email, including information such as your start date, pay and benefits.
Thanks!

Re: Shift Contact Question
It was almost a month after receiving my pass etc before I was texted about my first shift.
It's worth ringing them, and also checking they have the correct contact number for you on their 'texting' system.

Ok thank you. Did they give you a shift or ask you which one you would prefer?Si-Co wrote:It was almost a month after receiving my pass etc before I was texted about my first shift.

Re: Shift Contact Question
They offered me an induction shift but when I didn't accept it they offered another a few days later. This is the casual zero hours contract rather than the Christmas casual contract. Normally you get texts or calls offering shifts and if you can't do them you just wait for the next text, then call the number on the text to book in.
It is definitely worth chasing them up though as I know people who hadn't got texts as their mobile number had been typoed.
