The strike is rock solid. Regular mass meetings attended by over 800 of Liverpoolâ€™s postal workers, have repeatedly voted to stay out on strike. They have defied the bosses and the anti-union laws. They are now defying their union leadership which is trying to pressure them back to work so it can push through the sell-out deal (see letter from Dave Chapple and Pete Firmin).

The strike began on the morning the official action ended. Workers returned to clear the backlog of post that had built up during the four days of action. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Liverpool
I work in a small office and the bits we hear are creating utter despair. Are the small offices to be sacrificed for the good of the many.
We have lost hope that the PEC will say NO to a bum deal.
We are hoping that Liverpool and others with the power will start mass walkouts which the small offices can follow.

If I win the lottery tomorrow Liverpool workers will receive all their lost pay to show my respect.

We wish you well Liverpool. Just a thought that should provide some debate here Big Bad Billy is a Scouser and has been very quiet. Doe's anyone remember the Billy agenda? Thought we had voted in a Bob Crow type figure in, what a let-down. Bob has them by the balls, Billy seems to be licking them.

I also thought we would be getting someone with a bit of bottle when Billy was voted in. I remember the days of Red Billy when they tried to shut down Copperas Hill. Billy on the steps of St George's Hall breathing fire at the class enemy who were responsible for it all, like bloody Lenin on his armoured car. Billy might be a scouser mate, but his birthplace is about the only thing he has in common with real socialists like James Larkin, Fred Bower, Walter Crane, Ricky Tomlinson and hundreds of thousands of dockers, railwaymen, car workers, building workers who didn't go sucking up to the Prime Minister of the day. There's a proud history of radicalism in the North West and Billy Hayes isn't any part of it.

Billy thought there was going to be a snap election and he was going to be parachuted into a safe "Nu Labor" seat. How sad Brown (accept the deal on offer or else i'll steal the rest of your pensions) bottled it.

Now he has had to deal with the dispute he's caved in at the first injunction.

Trouble is Billy you can't talk about Colombia, Venezuela, Cuba, Iraq, Iran, Nicaragua, Palestine et al for ever occasionally you have to represent your own members and you've let us down big time: pension scheme closed, no pension for new entrants, below inflation pay rises, acceptance of dividends on the bogus shares, flexibility (do as you're told when I tell you in all offices), no change to their business plan, no end to the cuts in services, another 2,500 Post offices to close, and Royal Mail running riot across the country taking executive action. While managers who ahve seem the "agreement" are laughing at us for taking strike to achieve nothing while we the members who pay your wages are not even allowed to see the so called agreement. WE will not be treated like this any longer. Royal Mail are stealing our pensions and all you can do is run around headquarters with a face like a beetroot haranguing anybody who won't accept the crap you serve up.

Is your pay being cut? No

Is your pension scheme being closed? No

You are a joke the sooner you go the sooner we can rebuild this Union after 6 years of pseudo leftism has left us the laughing stock of the trade union movement
