Oxford DOs are in mess!! mail every where.. all the delivery staff are being treated very badley but no chance for going out. I do not think they would follow Leeds or Liverpool ?? I understand that in one of the Oxford delivery office .. both top managers are lesbian and they are officialy married to each other ( There was lots of news coverage in the press ), so what would you expect from this lesbian pair ?? No help what so ever from these two managers .

What's that got to do with anything?

Oxford was strong beofre wasn't it.

I think the Leeds action is very good and needs to be built up along with the inspirational action in Liverpool.

But unless solidairty and further action spreads Liverpool and Leeds risk being isolated. Is Leeds out tomorrow?

This is bang out of order. Loads of gay and lesbian groups have showed solidarity with strikers. A gay pub near me had a massive banner supporting the FBU throughout their strike. The miner's marched at the front of PRIDE after the solidarity shown throughout the miner's strike.

A manager is a manager, it's got nothing to do with whether they are gay or lesbian.

Stockport is right about the need to link up different areas at a rank and file level. At a smaller level this could include egroups but more solid staff is needed like mass meetings and even flying pickets.

can't bring sexuality into it unless ??!! RM are trying too hard to be more right on than thou as per usual with positive discrimination instead of on merit , in that case there may be a point. Also there's there's the mindless regimentation and orders from on high.
You can get both queen & dyke stereotypes who can be bitchy , vindictive or just generally a pain in the arse but the two fat slags in Viz are gross female stereotypes and there's male straight stereotypes .

But faults or otherwise of positive discrimination has nothing to do with being a lesbian. You can get people who are arsewipes regardless of their sexuality.

I guess I'm trying to say that it's not them being lesbians that makes them the way they are, but their personalities and the fact that they're managers.

Exactly. Well said.

How is it going in Leeds anyway? Are any other areas out?

I did try to research the term but cant find anything - but did find this on wikipedia if its not a malicious entry its fairly interesting.
The strike tactic has a very long history. Towards the end of the 20th dynasty, under Pharaoh Ramses III in ancient Egypt in the 12th century BC, the workers of the royal necropolis organized the first known strike or workers' uprising in history. The event was reported in detail on a papyrus at the time, which has been preserved, and is currently located in Turin.[1] In the modern era, sailors in 1768, in support of demonstrations in London, "struck" or removed the top-gallant sails of merchant ships at port, thus crippling the ships.

I'm pretty sure the striking sails = strike is right. And here's some stuff on that one in Egypt 1200bc
