No, St Andrew's day is not a holiday in Scotland, and it is in November.
And, the 2nd of January is a recognised public holiday in Scotland (this year being transferred to the 4th) and whilst some other industries will be working (including many shops etc.) as many will be on the 'boxing day' public holiday, it still doesn't explain the different treatment by RM of the two weekends.

I've explained it to you dude. The fact is if it were treated the same as a regular holiday (which it isn't as it's a straight swap for a Friday) you would be at an unfair advantage and you would get extra days off over the rest of the UK.
