Pre employment checks - Long wait?

Post by 8ball85 »

Hi,
I applied for my job on the 12th of April. Did the interview and the bits in between, no problems.
I received the step 6 email asking for the photo and stating around 14 working days for pre-employment checks on the 22nd of July.
I sent the email to my manager on the 28th of July.
Now its the 25th of August and I'm beginning to get edgy

Would calling the HR line be advisable for an info update?
Thanks

Firstly does it not say you had to email them back within 48 hours? You left it a few days didnt you? Anyway i emailed my photo and stuff and got the email back about pre employment checks 2 weeks later, but people on here recieve things at different times it all depends on how the staff at Sheffield are doing in regards to replying back to emails and stuff, i know on my indiction day yesterday a woman had applied back on april and only just had her induction yesterday so quite timely, i had applied in may and had my induction yesterday. You wouldnt lose anything by giving them a ring anyway. Good luck.

4th July 2015 I sent my photo to my SO manager.

10th August I got an email with my offer of employment.

We were told that RM are dealing with a lot of recruitments at the moment and thats why its taking so long.
I applied on the 27th April and started work last Saturday.

Good luck, and I don't think you'll have too long to wait now.
