Ten weeks after applying online. And hearing NOTHING in the interim...
I heard by email, today, that 'due to unforseen circumstance' the job has been withdrawn.
I don't even know whether I passed the online test. I haven't even been put on a waiting list.
Straight back to the beginning again.
So upset.

turn over is high so keep a look out, if you want it bad enough you'll get it. I first applied in 1980, then actually got a position in 2004 - albeit I did joing up in the meantime.

Yeah, my first application was for a position subsequently withdrawn. I got a job on the next application in a neighbouring town. It does suck when you get your hopes up, but staff turnover does seem to be pretty high in this job at the moment, if that's any consolation.

Keep looking on the Royal Mail jobs site but, from my experience, only apply for vacancies local to your home.

same happened to me today, had a phonecall few weeks ago with a conditional job offer subject to security checks, which i am confident of passing, phonecall last week confirming how much notice i have to give my current employer and promise of a call back with a start date and email today withdrawing application and no longer offering me the position, devastated and confused and no number to contact anyone for advice!!
