That's true. I just checked the previous time and it said 22.3 million items across most of the UK, this time it says 5 million across the UK. Implies that it will only be a quarter as many offices affected as last time, unless it was a typo.

If it's a typo my guess would be 25 million items

Refuse your lapsing all week. Simple, you are concentrating 6-days' door-dustbins mon-wed so will need 10-20 mins extra on those 3 days to throw them in. Then the same again Thu/Fri so that eats up all your lapsing time effectively. It is the Sun's Rugby WC edition ahead of the Quarter-final knockouts. Unless England and Wales contrive to get knocked-out in the group stages it WILL happen.

Bob Gibson you live on another planet , you come to our office and show us where the time is to prep all the normal d2ds ( 900 + calls each duty ) and deliver them by Wednesday on top of your other wonderful agreements lapsing , p&l , longs and shorts , anyway regardless I will be finishing on time and the rest will go back you can keep your o/t , so the quicker we can vote this clown out the better ,

It might be to protect full time jobs but what about the people both full time and part time who have to try to fit the extra work into already unachievable workloads. Seems to me its a case of pile more work onto the donkeys they'll have to manage somehow. For years now the union members have been saying that the workload is more than the duties were designed for and asking for things to be looked at but what has happened?? Since the van share duties have come in (in most offices) they now want us to deliver to neighbours, empty post boxes, collect items from people on the round who sell via ebay (according to a friend from another office) now these bespoke D2D items. I'm all for more business but the union should be looking after the health and welfare of its members, which I don't feel they are doing by accepting all these new ideas before getting the infrastructure in place on deliveries to cope with the extra work. I think Bob Gibson needs to go out on the streets for a week or more, not just a day, and see for himself how gruelling and physically demanding the job is.
I know there will be people saying "you only have to work to your time" and that's true but this is when the B&H starts. By accepting the new extra workload and not adjusting the deliveries appropriately the CWU are causing its workers to be bullied and harassed. It's time the union realised the postie on the street is only human, and what happens when the aches and pains start to come because the body can't cope?? you'll be thrown on the scrap heap.

We've been told that if we go over taking these D2D we will not be paid overtime. So that means the managers are going to be out all hours Thursday and Friday picking up loops from a lot of walks. Even if they paid triple time i wouldn't do it people do have life's outside RM but all they think is you have nothing else to do so work over.
Get them trainers on muppets.

There's a national joint statement saying that any overtime from these D2Ds should be paid as scheduled attendance
