there has been rumours of this happining in our office,so i guess it will be happening..is the choice of staying in optional or are the managers forcing posties to stay in?

Nothing like that at my office. All we have is people coming in on rest day/week and doing nothing but sorting all day.

They just tell you and you have to do it..in my place its all the full-timers in sorting, prob makes sense as no part-timer will know sorting..

why do royal mail do things the hard and expensive way,all it takes is a night shift for a while and it will all be sorted, there are a few that would do a night shift.also it saves money on casuals who dont know thier arse from thier elbow when it comes to delivery, and they also f**k youre walk up and leave evrything behind or bring it all back.

:d'oh! :d'oh! Shouldn't brag about it mate. Your falling straight into croziers lap. Eight hours pay for eight hours work. And when your neighbours see you coming home at ten in the morning! What do you think they say to themselves? :mad

full timers not going out ....

Post by thekiddykid »

It happened on one day in our office last week. We had a couple of spare part timers ( due to a low level of holiday leave) and 2 f t stayed in sorting MS3. This was really a panic move by the dom as you could hardly move for yorks in the office.Who in their right mind wants to be left inside sorting with the gaffers for 8hrs anyway???

part timer next to me
8 am start prep till 8.30
8.30 till 9am wtll
9.00 till 9.20 m/r
9.20 to 9.40 redirections and bundle up
about enough mail in the frame to fill my shirt pocket, takes whole walk, and walks past just about every house, full timers sorting time only, rafters bulging, more delays from working than when we where on strike
