pre booked holidays

Post by chillout1571 »

When I had my interview I informed them of certain days I couldn't do, they asked me to remind them by email, so I did. Then they said it's best to also inform the manager on my first day, which I did in writing.
One of those days is next week. I reminded the manager again today and he said I'll have to do a different day instead or I can't have it off. I have reasons I can never do certain days and I can only my contracted days.

I don't know what to do, I think it's a bit unreasonable.

Anyone else having similar problems?

Thanks

Moved to Blue Shirts.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Was probably worth getting them to agree to it in writing in some shape or form, not that you would think you would have needed to. But with the way RM is going atm :S. I had a couple of weeks just randomly cancelled whilst I was holiday mind... that was the icing on the cake for me.

See your rep - all leave booked before you started working for RM should be honoured - its "Custom and Practice" - remember that phrase.

mm,,,years ago I started here,,,,left my previous job but had a summer holiday booked.

all through interview and the training days I kept telling them,,,,it was 1st week in the august,,,,at the time it was june.
the interviewer and the trainer told me,,,no prob they honour holidays

LUCKILY and I say that now after seeing many years of the way d.o.ms work I had the leave sheet given to me...this week was marked on.

Low and behold the Saturday before my hol I mentioned see in in a week....puzzled they got the computer showing me I wasn't off till October.

I quietly worked out,,,,went home,,,,roughly 1/2 hour journey and brought in my leave sehet LOL

seemed 1 of the managers was stuck and just changed my hols......

so now I do get things printed or carved in stone.
