Rules for cutting off

Hi there

Just wondered what other people do about cutting off?

At the moment we are being told to put mail back in the frame for delivery the next day, but is this right?
Is that the national agreement? It seems to differ from office to office.

I've been told it shouldn't be happening and that all mail that can't be done should be sorted out by the line manager.

All mail should be delivered the day it is received at your do , weather you do it, your manager does it, he gets help from other offices manager or postie or he calls in agency .

You should report every time it happens give them hard evidence what was left ,what date and time and the manager responsible .

It's actually perfectly allowable to leave mail in the frame as long as it's reported correctly, the manager doesn't need to actually fo and deliver it himself just needs to show that he has tried to get it delivered either by another postie being paid ot or a manager who has time trying to get it done, as long as he has done that and reported it correctly then he is allowed to leave the mail in the frame

so if you think he is not reporting it correctly it's better to complain about that rather than about mail being left in the frame, the easiest way to tell if he is not reporting it correctly is to see if he counts it, as he has to count each type of mail and report them accurately

That's just ridiculous managers can't just leave work and go home it's there responsibility to get it done .

Possibly but then when has the scale of ridiculousness been a factor in making decisions at RM,except of course to make it more certain it will be enacted.

my mail was put back in fitting by manger and now there trying to do me for willful delay? ? because they were on delivery of other rounds that were cut off that day and not in office to answer phone yet a whole round stayed but nobody is to blame cos it was o.t

did you tell them you might not finish before you went out ?
failing that, did you attempt to contact them at the earliest time you realised you wouldnt finish ? (hopefully at least you can say yes to this one if you used your mobile the log of your attempted calls to your office could help you out)

Yes done both been 4 weeks and still nothing done
