Motorcyclist seriously injured after crash with RM van

The male rider was thrown to the ground in the collision on Brixton Hill at the junction with Blenheim Gardens this evening.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries after the incident at 6.20pm, a spokesman for Scotland Yard said.

Police could not immediately provide further details about the victim's identity but said his injuries were not thought to be "life-threatening".

Some passers-by suggested the safety of the road needed to be urgently reviewed to prevent further accidents.
