Its all well and good doing the job properlly, but obviously you don't need any extra time on your delivery, coz you posted this at 1.09. Some people were doing the job properlly, others were just taking the piss, what category do you fall into?

had a meeting at watford this morning and they have excepted a deal you can follow the van in your car but no post in it BUT YOU ALL LOOSE HALF AN HOUR SA A DAY everyone put there hand up to except it apart from 6 off us that walked out thats it then you lost pay over strikes and you except a deal that makes you loose more pay shame on you all well worth doing it properly for the last 16 weeks never again

Do the job properly and use a bike. Simple. The Line Managers should do the same too........but that would be fun to see!!!

It would still be illegal to use a car although there is no mail in it in working time if you have not signed RM's bond or have bought the proper commercial insurance. Effectively, those taking part are transporting themselves in the pursuit of RM’s profit. Have an accident and expect to be paying big bucks out of your own pocket to third parties. RM may be vicariously liable for conspiring with them to break the law but at the end of the day their own personal well being is at stake. What RM is doing is trying to circumvent the law but it will not work, however, those whom are helping them by using their cars in this way will only find out when they have an accident. Ignorance is no defence of the law. Be warned! Is it worth it?

My DOM wanted to take me out in his car the other day but i refused as i said he had no insurance.
He said that as he was previously a few weeks ago a cluster rerserve manager he HAD to have business insurance so it was ok.
As it happens a van turned up,but he did use his car to drop bags out today.
Any ideas on this,would he pay for his own insurance do you think or is he quoteing the above!

The easiest thing to do would be to ask for proof of insurance. If he can't produce any, refuse to go out in the car. What are they gonna do, sack you for sticking to the laws of the land?

Nah, the easiest thing to do, is politely refuse, wave cheerfully as he drives out of the yard, stuffed to the gun'als with mail - then straight on the blower to the cozzers, giving his reg and estimated whereabouts
