Anything signed out of the cage gets delivered by 1pm regardless of barcode then there is no comeback by management.

International signed for items cannot be delivered to neighbours, they should be P739'd and returned to the locker. This applies whether or not it came out of the locker as a "special" or juust arrived with your mail/packets. Obviously some international items do not require a signature so they should be left if they fit through the letter box.

The thing is there's plenty Chinese packets that come through the system, that don't come out the locker, that need a signature. So are these not meant to be delivered to a neighbour either?
No international item is to be left with a neighbour.

This was indeed a letter wrote into the courier and was confirmed by reply that they did NOT need to be delivered by 1pm, our DOM emailed the person who replied in the courier to confirm this via email, and they did!
It is ONLY 9am and 1pm Royal Mail BRANDED barcoded items that are time sensitive!

The delivering of the International specials to a neighbour becomes a very grey area, especially when some need a signature and some are just confirmation of delivery.
CLEAR guidance is badly needed, even more so, when managers are telling staff wrong info regarding times for international items!
There is clear guidance. International items, specials or otherwise, are NOT to be left with neighbours. It cannot be any clearer than that.

Here's a thought :hmmmm ...... International Item, doesn't need a signature, small enough to go through a letter box....... Scan it prior to 13.00 and then just post it when you get there! Prepare to receive incoming! :cuppa

Van breaks down and you can't get there/dog snapping at the letterbox/you trip over and can't carry on/old fashioned letterbox or no letterbox, just one of those
finger slicing continental wall mounted boxes and you thought it was big enough to fit but it won't........

Bad idea. If you scan it when not on the doorstep and something goes wrong you'll get a bollocking when they check on the GPS location of the scan and it's not on the doorstep

any coming out of the locker are 99% going to ask for a signature when you scan it on the pda, so if you put in false info you would be liable for a conduct charge

If our office is anything to go by the vast majority don't need a signature, just a scan is required. There appears to be little reasoning to what is classed as a "special", i wonder if they have percentage which needs to be classed as a "special" and it's potluck which parcel is picked

Are you sure these are ones that came out of the specials bag? As the nearly always need a signature the ones that come out through the packets are the ones that dont

Yes definitely , we've asked why identical parcels going to the same address are split and one will be a "special" and the other goes straight in your packet bag, it came in the specials bag is the answer. It started with the USA parcels (don't think i've ever needed a signature for one of these) but now it is more German and Dutch.

As has been posted in many threads this is happening countrywide and nobody has an answer why.

We have loads of so called International "Specials". Asked the Locker Guy why he gives them to us as specials. He just said "They come in the specials bag and I have to keep them in the safe so they're dished out as specials"!

Makes no sense to me If you don't need to get a signature. But what do I know I'm just a Postie! :cuppa

Why don't DOMs send out someone with any 09:00 specials? Most DOs probably get half a dozen at the most
