Should I start worrying? (Pre employment checks)
I received an email on the 6th of August telling me that my pre employment checks would commence from that date, I emailed them the photo needed for an ID badge and haven't heard anything since, should I be worried that it's taking a while to hear back?
Regards

Summer hols..............at my induction day some hadn't even received a contract, so I wouldn't worry too much (unless you've not declared your
membership of the Monster Raving Looney Party) but some might say that's a required qualification to want to work at RM

I've still not heard anything :(. I've emailed them and heard nothing back. I've emailed Royal Mail a few times throughout the process and never had a response to my questions from them.

Re: Should I start worrying? (Pre employment checks)
I'm in exactly same position, 6th August conditional offer no contact since. I've tried contacting RM also but no response!! Bit frustrating but I suppose no news is good news. I think the 14 day turnaround on the email can be a bit misleading.

Re: Should I start worrying? (Pre employment checks)
I got mine 3 weeks ago and not heard.i just keep getting replies to emails I sent months ago which is so confusing.
My heart sank when I got a reply today as it said sorry but the position is gone, then I realised it was a reply to an email sent months ago!
I emailed them to ask if I should be worried that the checks are taking too long

Re: Should I start worrying? (Pre employment checks)
As I said previously I think the 14 day turnaround is wrong. It's frustrating trying to make contact but they probably receive lots of queries each day so I still say no news is good news. Unless of course your aware that something might come up on a security check of your name/address etc. I think a company like Royal Mail would notify you if there was a problem especially the lengths they go to recruiting. One other thing when I emailed my photo to my new manager she was kind enough to respond so I took it upon myself to ask her if what I was in fact waiting on was a dbs clearance which she confirmed it was and hoped to get me started asap which put my mind at ease a fair bit. If u have your prospective new boss's email why not ask if you haven't already? I'd be climbing walls if it had gone on any longer so I know it's rubbish!

Re: Should I start worrying? (Pre employment checks)
Can I ask when you get asked for the photo please?
I had a call with an offer a month ago now but not heard anything or been asked for anything, no emails and status has always remained the same online "no applications"
The guy just said he'd ring me if there were any problems.
It has even crossed my mind that it could've been a prank call from someone bored at the office.haha
Getting quite disheartened but makes me feel better when you say no news is good news.fingers crossed!

Re: Should I start worrying? (Pre employment checks)
To be honest I've only ever once received a call and that was unavoidable on rm's part I think it's fair to say 99% of there communication is through email. Your email is slightly confusing to me have you received conditional offer email? The whole process for me started around middle of July and I got the job offered officially a week last Saturday so that gives you some idea of the timescales involved. Throughout the whole thing there's been little gaps of silence in terms of contact then when they conditionally offered me the job on 6th August that's when they asked me to send a photo and then security check cleared and job was offered on 3rd September. I hope this helps on some level.
