In our office many deliveries have 700+ delivery points of which damn few are flats. 500 would only be for some rurals or massive long drive residentials.

Some of our deliveries have 900+ dps. These do contain some blocks of flats

It'll be for all parcels, not just bulk senders. afaik they'll all need to be scanned in DOs and probably on delivery when an attempt at delivery is made

:left: :left: :left: :left: with PDAs that don't last a whole delivery, that crash on a frequent but undetermined cycle and if you are in a CDV have only 1 tickle charge point, which incidentally is not a boost charge so if will add less than 1% to the battery in the 10 minutes (maximum) between loop start points.

It may happen sometime in the future, and they may be planning it for this year, but reality will throw a spanner in the works.

They have started implementing the new Callers Office System. All packages brought back as non-delivered will be entered into the system (scanned) which then prints out a numbered label. The package is then put in the correct sequence.
On collection you type in the postcode and number and it gives you the number of the package. A good system for tracking ALL parcels which should allow flexibility in the future to notify recipient of availability of collection and sender of basic tracking details.

Royal Mail aim to have 80% of all parcels barcoded by the end of this year and then each parcel will require a door step scan for delivery and when the new PDAs are rolled out the aim is to have tracking of parcels and in flight redirections.
