Hi all,
Joined today and what a great resources this site is!!!
I am working as a relief for the relief delivery person :) I have been at it for about 6 months covering holidays on two local (rural) routes, and have recently achieved the holy grail of AWR.
Firstly I have about 35 hours of holiday in the bank and want to know if anybody has used holiday to reset the clock on the 6 week cool down.
Secondly with the xmas period coming up I know I will have no work for about 6 weeks as the guys I cover will not be able to take time off. I had thought of putting forward for xmas sorting but wonder if I will be shunted to the minimum wage for it. different role and all that or even worse I lose my higher rate on the delivery role.
Manager is a nice bloke but getting a straight answer is tricky ( I suspect he doesn't know himself sometimes). I have no faith in getting the truth from Angard.
Regards,
Mark

Re: Keeping UP AWR
Thank you both. Glad to find out about the pausing bit as I can sure use the 4 hours to do that and stretch it out instead of blowing a big chunk.
I will speak to the DOM now about Christmas shifts and make sure it is on the same contract.
