Returning forms before start date

Post by movingon »

Can anyone shed some light for me please?
With my offer of employment letter there was a link to some forms (e.g. tax starter declaration, working time regulations), the letter said I would be receiving my contract with a stamped addressed envelope and I should return the forms with it.
Reading posts on here it seems that the contract doesn't always arrive before the start date. What did you do in that case, return the forms separately (to where?) or wait until starting to give them in?
Thanks in advance....

movingon,

I received my contract a couple of days before my induction, so sealed it and the other forms in the envelope provided and
hand carried it to my induction - but my induction was at Sheffield (where HR are based).
If your induction day isn't at Sheffield not sure that they'd take the docs off you.

The addresses for the WTD and New Starter Checklist are on the individual docs, the 'Expression of Wish' form just says
'Pensions Team' in the envelope provided - so it's all HR at Sheffield. The only one which might cause an issue
if they don't get it in reasonable time is the New Starter Checklist which HR/HMRC use to tax your wages - depends
on when your start work date is I suppose.

hey yb
I was thinking the same - that the tax one would be the one that they would need on time. Maybe I'll send that one off and wait for the contract/first day, whichever comes sooner, to give in the others!
thanks for taking the time to answer - really helpful
cheers
