The final trial of finger scanners is now under way as we continue to improve our parcel offering.
Colleagues at Swindon mail centre are trialling finger scanners to process correctly barcoded parcels and track mail.
The scanners will be deployed across all mail centres and RDCs over the coming months. Staying number one in the parcels market is key to our strategy.
Improving our tracking ability is central to that aim. In time, this will make it easier for us to meet our customers’ expectations of service and customers will find it easier to see the quality of our performance.
Barcodes
As well as improving our processes, we are working with customers to persuade those not already using 2D barcodes to make the change. Later this year, we will improve our tracking further by scanning more barcoded parcels on delivery.
This investment will ensure our business is fit for the future and that we are able to answer customer needs and expectations.
