Hi any one in the know surely can explain how angard staffing can text its employees that if they continue to jam their phone lines enquiring whether they have a shift or not will be banned from work for 1 week.
Is this legal or illegal on grounds of discrimination.
Plz anyone who knows the law advice.

Angard don't care about discrimination in fact their whole business model seems to be based on discrimination Hence the same people get shifts all the time others get 3/4 per month this is also Illegal but nothing seems to ever get done about it .
They shouldn't be able to strike you from the call list just because you are inquiring about the availability of work but this is done on a regular basis.
Angard operate a constant recruitment policy under the guise of regional management requests. This is to cut costs by replacing long term workers with those on the minimum wage.

theres nothing legal or illegal about how hey dish shifts out,were all zero hour hence we get what we get.yes its unfair morally corrupt way to run a business.but ha ho.End of the day its way of royal mail getting cheap labour and way of bypassing union.as for foning no one should be foning as were told imagine if everybody called every day it would be first come first serve ,so what timewould you start calling?7.30am 6.30am 5.30am were would it end,can see that there fones would be jammed.there are fairer ways to do it ,rota system and not over employing staff when you can only get 1 shift per week each and yet there still taking new satff then it dont take a blind man to see whats happening"dont piss up my back and tell meits raining" come to mind.shares to be sold soon need balance sheet to look good so cut wage costs .its a shame good loyal staff been treated like this,but those who are in command dont need to look you in the eye.sure theyll have nice xmass.sure there not choosing wether to pay rent or gas or lecky this week and waitrose deliver so wont have to worry bout that either.this goverment love it takes ppl of dole list but as we all know its meaningless.were screwed guys .

There is nothing cheap about Angard employees for Royal Mail...if you are on £7 an hour Angard are charging RM £14 (around £4 more than what we get)...when you go up to AWR rate they still charge around £7 on top of what you get... (was told Angard make the same profit no matter how much they pay) best thing to do is look for weekend vacancies at delivery office's, you might only get a 8 hour contract but you can then jump the Angard que to get into mail centres (if theres no shifts during the week at the DO, summer is quiet but winter you get so many hours you won't know what to do with em! that's what I did and from september - may/june i'm basically full time :)
