its difficult to advise what to wear as a lot if it depends on the weather. Denim is a definite No, as it causing chaffing in the most awkward of places for both genders.

Check the forecast every day and when its hot wear light clothes and a hat. When its going to rain, a light coat and a hat. If its going to cold, don't put too many layers on as you'll sweat.

Little is best. You get really hot when you're walking for hours. I've been wearing a t-shirt and cargo shorts with lots of pockets to accommodate PDA, dockets, pens, plasters, notepad and mobile phone. I've got soaked but have dried off more quickly. I was so wet last week that the rain was running down my nose and a nice person came out of their house and asked if I wanted a coat! :Very Happy .

Used to be a couple of months before your manager will authorise any uniform, just in case you don't stay in the job. Also remember that the size you are now is not necessarily the same size you will be in a couple of months time.

Thanks GT85. I've just been online and it would let me order 3 x high vis. jackets and 2 pairs of boots. I will wait until Saturday and speak to my manager though. Got good walking boots, berghaus jacket and combat working trousers which will do until I can order RM items.

Just to update, I ordered my uniform last Wednesday, the day after my induction. It arrived 3 days later in time for my first Saturday duty. I found the trousers and shorts small, I ordered 10's thinking they were going to be a 31" waist after reading some info. on the forum. I returned them for replacements in a size 12 and fingers crossed they fit a treat. I am a size 5 in all shoe wear but the trainers I got were too big even with the supplied thick insoles (a thin insole is also supplied) so I've retuned them and re ordered a size 4. Hoping I will have a big parcel waiting for me at my duty frame tomorrow. :Very Happy
