Yes you can nothing in agreements which prevents this, end of day flexing is voluntary so if you volunteer to flex there's nothing stopping you doing some lapsing in that time
Lapsing is only meant for days where you have spare time to do it, if they need to ask you to flex to lapse then you obviously don't have time. There's nothing that says they can't ask you're right but I know people wouldn't stand for it at my office, flexing to absorb isn't on in my book.

Exactly flexing is supposed to be used when a bulk posting comes in or some unforeseen circumstances is lorry breakdown and it has to be mutually agreed in my book they can't pull the flex agreement for absorption. And if you allow them too you are a tool.

No if you read what he posted, you CAN ask to flex 30 minutes to get the lapsing done as its voluntary. But the managers can't tell you to flex to get the lapsing done, becuase lapsing is not considered "exceptional" circumstances. Don't forget YOU CAN ASK to flex, just as they can ask you to flex.

Although why would you, unless yo can benefit from an earlier finish or something else.

If i go over my time on a Wednesday by say half an hour and claim the overtime, But then finish half an hour early on the Saturday and there is no more work to do. Can they take the 30 mins I claimed on the Wednesday off me? Just a query.

No!!!

But don't expect to go home 30 minutes early. You have to be prepared to stay to your finishing time.

And to add to my post. Will there be a manager at work on Saturday afternoon to make you stay? I doubt it, ours mysteriously vanish every Saturday afternoon.

had a postie this week needed to book 1/2 hour OT as went over so taken in office for argument with the lino next day for booking OT bought back 1/2 hour the next day as he did not want the same argument, so although having followed the over running procedure to the letter taken in the office for the same argument why did you bring mail back , said WHAT DO YOU WANT US TO DO now being taken down the conduct route for arguing with a manager

any wonder why this week we have had 2 part timers leave one full timer hand in their notice and one full timer sacked
