Pre-employment checks questions.

Post by Leegnufc »

Hi I have just received an email regarding my application.
Step 6 conditional offer email, I have been asked to answer a few questions as part of the pre-employment checks. I'm just wondering why have I only received this email now when my security checks began on the 22/7/15. Any help would be much appreciated.

Lee,

if this is the email with four or five questions about will this be your only job etc etc., I had the same with the stage 6 email.

Wouldn't worry about it, some of the stages of RM asking for info, why they ask it at a particular point and what your candidate profile says can all be a bit out of synch.

My candidate profile status still says Pre-employment checks nearly two weeks after I received email notification that I'd passed them and got a formal offer.

Thanks for the reply.

Just seems weird they're asking this now, 11 days after filling out address and employment history online for the security checks. My status is currently "In progress" it changed to this from "pre-employment checks" immediately after entering this information.

Please could someone explain about 'profile status'.
Am I checking the correct place? I'm looking at the two online tests I did that now say 'completed'. Is this the right place?

lettergirl,

from what you've said I think you're still looking at the website that conducts the online 'compare the postcodes' and the 'personality' type tests.

When you started your application you could only have done so by registering and creating a 'Candidate Profile' through the Royal Mail Careers webpage:

https://jobs.royalmailgroup.com/talentc ... y/profile/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

When you login to it, it can give you an idea (and it's only a very rough idea...!) of what stage your application is at. You should also
get emails telling you whether you've passed the tests and then if you've made the interview stage. Check your email
junk/spam folders also to make sure that they are not landing in there.

Leenufc I think your at the same stage as me, I had the same phone call yesterday about the questions on security checks again like your self I had filled in the history on the 22nd, then after the questions were complete she said it could take up to another 2-3 weeks before you hear back with a start date :/ I thought all the security checks I.e 5 year history and crb took 2 weeks as a whole not each step.

I was hoping that they had just forgot to ask the questions at the beginning of the security checks, and that the 14 day wait from the start of the checks still stood. Wishful thinking....

Amyloulou,

it probably won't ease your mind but bear in mind it's now peak holiday season, so if there is an
issue with someone's application it could take a little longer than normal for someone to chase up the information.

By hedging their bets by saying 2 - 3 weeks, when you get a positive answer before that it will be a pleasant surprise!

The emails I've received have always said 'about', 'around' when talking about timings - no 'Special Delivery Guaranteed' specified......... sorry couldn't resist....

Keeping an eye out for a good result for you - Good luck!
