THE relocation of Islington’s postal delivery office from Barnsbury to Hoxton has been postponed until September 7.
The move was supposed to take place on August 10, but Royal Mail has decided to delay this to ensure “a smooth transfer” from the Almeida Street office to Eagle Wharf Road.
It comes as part of a step towards “modernising” the mail service, as more parcels and fewer letters come through the network.
The Almeida Street office will close on September 5. From September 7, mail awaiting collection will be held at the new office, which will be outlined on the Something For You cards left for customers.
The new office will offer parking for customers.
