London pay rate

Post by Postie68 »

Hi every one my name is Shaun and I've been with Royal Mail for five years , my wife an I are thinking of moving to London and was wondering if there is a difference in the hourly rate to reflect the higher cost of living in the area. The area we are thinking moving to is Chinford. Looking forward to any thoughts on the subject

Yes there are both Inner and Outer London rates though exactly what they are now I don;'t know. However a member called Dingo has posted them. If you use our http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/community/search.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; function you should be able to find it.

dingo posted last September that pay rates then were:
Basic National £394.76
Outer London £468.20
Inner London £495.18

They will have gone up a bit with this year's pay rise. Chingford is in Outer London. House prices are high there - it's a popular place for London cabbies to live . Have a look at property sites like zoopla.com or primelocation.com to get an idea of costs of renting or buying.
