A LLANBADARN man who used the Royal Mail to offer a next-day delivery of drugs to clients has been jailed. Cei William Owens, 29, admitting dealing in cannabis and magic mushrooms over the “dark side” of the web at Swansea Crown Court on Friday.

He was arrested following a police swoop in November last year where Owens and six other Britons were arrested by officers of the National Crime Agency who were probing a website known as the Silk Road 2, which allowed users to buy and sell drugs – and even guns – to each other.

Owens had pleaded guilty to two charges of supplying or offering to sup-ply Class A and B drugs as well as three counts of possession.

The court heard that Owens adopted the name “Johnny Alpha” to carry out drugs deals using bitcoins, a digital currency growing in popularity as part of what the prosecution described as an “organised and sophisticated mail order style service”.

Clare Wilks, prosecuting, said Owens advertised “quality hash and free and next-day delivery”, making deliveries through the post.

His home, then in Aberdyfi, was raided by detectives who found drugs worth £1,700, including some so-called legal highs, and digital scales.

They also found that encryption soft-ware had been installed on his home computer in a bid to conceal his identity.

Cameron was probably reading his NSA-written speech when he spoke about the idea!

Like Schneier says banning encryption is like banning cars because terrorists use them for car bombs. It's not sensible due to it's everyday use. And to give the Government the keys to access encrypted date is asking for trouble. We may as well have a camera in every home monitored by the State.
